I am admittedly disappointed with this product. I bought it with high hopes, I paid about $35.00. I suppose you get what you pay for, but I didn't expect what happened. I had the product for only a week, and one day I looked down into my snow cone and found two small pieces of metal on my ice. I cant be sure where these little pointy pieces came from on the machine, but my cup was clean and I was using a plastic spoon. I couldn't risk it, so I had to return the product.
Had the Nostalgia maker not spit the small shards, I'd still be giving this item a poor review. It takes several minutes to make the snow cone, you have to hold it firmly because it moves everywhere. If you're expecting "snow" consistency, this is not the item for you. I bought the Ninja brand food blender. It was only 20 bucks more, and that baby gets the job done. It also multitasks as a food processor, which I liked.
My advice: if you're going to invest in a snow cone maker to use frequently, invest in a good, sturdy appliance and pay the few extra bucks. This little guy wasn't worth the hassle for me.
